I am a venture capitalist and philanthropist who is strongly interested in Open Source and takes this thing seriously. Most of my time is currently spent on:

• Investing at Runa Capital (General Partner), an early-stage VC firm focusing on enterprise software and deep tech, where I specialize on open source, developer-focused and infrastructure software startups.
  
  
• Building the Open Source Endowment (Chairman & Co-Founder), the world’s first endowment fund exclusively dedicated to sustaining free open source software.
  
  
• Publishing related ideas and data — from the regular quarterly index of trendy open-source startups to various irregular notes below.

Inspired by a tech background, my passion is experimenting with new tech things before they become mainstream — for instance, programming (since 2005), tech startups (since 2009), machine learning (since 2011), and Bitcoin (since 2013).

Nowadays I live in London and frequently visit the San Francisco Bay Area.
