Project leader for a tech charity

There is a great next-gen non-profit initiative looking for a product-focused leader who has a business background in the tech industry and is eager to create a lasting social impact. Can this unique opportunity fit you or one of your friends?

The project has already gained early fans among startup founders, tech executives, and VC investors willing to contribute resources, including their time, networks and money (when it is ready to accept donations). The missing part of the puzzle is a passionate and capable person to lead this project and put things together.

From my VC perspective, it's a developer-focused fintech non-profit startup mostly targeting the tech industry as the market (B2C + B2B). While nobody is perfectly suited to lead an innovative startup, some intersections with the following list would be great:

  • Self-driven leader who can work in a tech startup environment at a global scale
  • Product management experience with strong exposure to the tech industry
  • Good understanding of bottom-up GTM, ideally open source and developer tools
  • Sales or fundraising experience, ideally with HNWIs and institutions
  • Experience in regulated industries, ideally fintech, financial services or non-profit
  • Based in Europe or the United States, ideally in London

One of the first goals would be to secure the initial funding with the active assistance of early supporters, and it requires a committed project leader in place. Then this unique role turns into a full-time paid job. But the key rewards are not really related to salary and revolve around three unique opportunities to:

  1. Work on an inspiring project with many successful entrepreneurs, executives, VC investors, family offices, philanthropists, charity foundations and tech corporations.

  2. Build an efficient digital-first tool against a crucial global problem and maybe even make it negligible — like humanity did with smallpox in the 1970s.

  3. Spend a few years in a non-profit startup, maximizing your social impact instead of personal earnings. However, the result can be very handy for your future business.
